Manager Health & Safety

We are currently seeking a Manager Health & Safety to join our clients operations in Townsville.

You will be able to manage staff, you wil have previous hazard facility experience, contractor management experience, Safety Management systems, dangerous goods experience, security experience, operations and a strong chemical process understanding

Reporting directly to the General Manager, the key accountabilities for this role include:

• Provide leadership and support in Health & Safety strategy and targets to meet objectives
• Design, implement and continuously improve an integrated Health & Safety management system in alignment to Health & Safety Standards and in compliance with Safety Case Legislation, ISO 14001, ISO 9001 and OSHAS 18001. Achieve and maintain ISO and OSHAS certifications
• Manage the development/ implementation of Health & Safety plans to reduce risk and achieve value adding outcomes for the site
• Ensure the client meets all obligations under its Major Hazard Facility licence
• Liaise closely with governmental health and safety regulatory bodies.

To be considered for this role you will have Tertiary qualifications in Science, Chemical Engineering or Safety/Risk Management and post graduate qualifications in business or management are highly desirable.

You will have previous experience working in a similar position within the Mining, Resourcing or other heavy industry
